Friends and guests of the park, we need help to combat Russian Thistle at Pearrygin Lake State Park in Winthrop. This nasty invasive weed is a vastly successful strain of tumbleweed that is literally taking over the west! The park has a lot of Russian Thistle and it needs to be taken out without spraying. We need willing helpers to support park staff for this work party. Park guests might consider bringing kids to the event, so they can participate in this community effort.
This is a two hour event and will be held from 9-11 AM, Friday, June 28. It will be strenuous work. Please wear a long sleeved top and full length pants. Bring gloves, and water. If possible, please bring a garden hoe, pitch fork, and small tarp.
