The Summer Season Draws Near, MVTC and Partner Groups Pushing Logout Lines and Trail Work Into the Alpine
With warming temperatures, long days and receding snowlines; conditions are ripe to start pushing trail work into the higher elevation bands.
MVTC’s backcountry crew has taken full advantage of this and accomplished some impressive work in the last few weeks:
Louis Lake Trail #428 has been logged out to the lake.
The Cedar Creek Trail #476 has now been logged out to Abernathy Pass.
The West Fork Buttermilk Trail #411 is now logged out to Fish Creek Pass up on the Sawtooth crest.
MVTC also recently hosted another weekend volunteer work party on the West Fork Buttermilk Trail to help log out the first several miles along with some tread and brushing work accomplished as well. Lots of great volunteers showed up and put in time giving back to this trail.

In addition, MVTC staff recently put in effort on a local favorite Driveway Butte Trail #481, and we were able to log out to the summit along with some brushing and tread work.
Looking ahead into the start of summer, we are stoked to keep opening up more trail miles around the Methow District, working alongside our volunteers and partner groups.
