Winter Trails Information

Methow Trails Nordic Network

Methow Trails is the largest cross-country ski area in North America boasting over 200km (120+ miles) of groomed trails. In addition to world-class cross-country skiing, there are designated trails for fat biking and snowshoeing. Passes can be purchased online, or at local businesses and should be displayed by skiers using the trails in the winter months. Proceeds from pass sales fund the maintenance of this trail network and ensure public access across multiple land managers and private land owners. Washington State Sno-Parks

Sno-Parks are cleared parking areas near groomed and backcountry trails around the state. There are both designated motorized and non-motorized Sno-Parks. Non-motorized Sno-Parks are only open to activities such as cross-country skiing, dog sledding, snowshoeing, and general snow play. While motorized sno-parks, allow snowmobiles in addition to all non-motorized activities.

All vehicles parked at these Sno-Parks must display a motorized or non-motorized Sno-Park pass on their windshield. These passes are required from November 1st- April 30th. Proceeds from these passes cover costs associated with maintaining and plowing these winter recreation sites as well as grooming 177 miles of motorized and multi-use winter trails in the Methow. Passes can be purchased online or at several local businesses. To find out more about the Washington State Parks Sno-Park program, including pass types and fees, click here.
