Logout Map

Logout is the most basic, and increasingly time-consuming part of annual trail maintenance. It’s the act of clearing fallen trees from across a trail. The CalTopo map below highlights trails that have been logged out on the Methow Valley Ranger District during the 2026 field season. The map will be updated biweekly during the field season with logout reports and other relevant trail issues as our staff becomes aware of them. Zoom around on our page, or open it in CalTopo in your browser for an easier user experience. As a general disclaimer, just because a trail has been logged out does not mean new trees haven’t fallen since, especially in a burned area. MVTC’s logout map is not intended to be your sole navigational tool, but a resource for trip planning so that you know which trails have been cleared this season.

If you are out on the trails and find something that needs work, please let us know via the conditions reporting form at the bottom of the trails conditions page.

Whenever possible, we input GPX tracks directly from our field-going staff; however, we often rely on partner or volunteer reports to determine where the logout starts and stops. It is possible the exact coordinates are incorrect, though they should be helpful for getting within range of major landmarks.
