West Fork of the Buttermilk Work Party

This trail accesses some great alpine terrain but has not been completely cleared of blowdowns since 2021. When a trail isn’t logged out, other annual maintenance needs go unaddressed. This day is an opportunity to work alongside a Washington Conservation Corps crew and other volunteers to ensure this trail stays on the map.

Those looking to stay closer to the trailhead can repair sections of the trail surface. Volunteers who want to go for a longer hike can use a handsaw to clear logs and brush. There’s something for everyone.

Please arrive at the trailhead by 8:30 am each morning. We will work for the day and aim to return to the trailhead by 3:00 pm at the latest.

Wear close-toed shoes, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring water, a lunch for the day, and everything you need to be comfortable working for a day outside.

MVTC will provide light snacks, tools, personal protective equipment, and guidance for the day.
Join us for one day or all three!
