MVTC's Trail Field Season Draws to a Close
As the chilly autumn nights deepen and light snow begins to dust the mountains, MVTC’s trail work field season is drawing to a close. All of us at MVTC are reflecting back on the season’s accomplishments and starting to refurbish and winterize our saws and gear.
It really has been a productive and noteworthy trail season around the Methow District. Despite widespread damage from the December 2025 storm event and a heavy log load, along with a heavy smoke and fire season; MVTC, our partner organizations and volunteers were able to accomplish an impressive array of work, and keep the backbone of our trail system maintained.
On that note, MVTC would like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers that joined us for work events this season. This season in particular, it really took the whole community to help maintain trail access to our public lands.
As the season wound down, MVTC recently took advantage of the nice October weather and worked on tread issues on both the Monument Creek and West Fork Methow trails. We repaired 2 washouts on the Monument Creek trail prior to Eureka Creek, and over on the West Fork Methow trail, we dug tread through 2 large scree slides, brushed and logged out 3.65 miles up the trail.

As we reflect back on this season, we also are looking forward to another solid year ahead in 2027. We are excited to continue to work alongside our friends and partners to keep trail access to public lands open and accessible across the Methow District.
